some people tend to be more into Reich
some people tend to be more into Tesla
I usually don't meet people into both equally...
some how I've always equated the importance of the two
but I just always seemed to dig into Reich a lot, but not as much into Tesla.
does this say something about one's personality,
which wonderfuly offbeat genius scientist we are drawn to?
Are most of the people on this tribe on the Tesla Tribe too?
cheers

Re: Reich vs. Tesla
Wed, April 11, 2007 - 3:58 PMI find both to be fascinating but since I am more interested in Reichian therapeutic methods I tend to focus more on Reich than Tesla. -

Re: Reich vs. Tesla
Wed, April 11, 2007 - 5:11 PMYeah that's basically me too.
Just more into the the energy, the sexuality
and the healing. It tends to resonate with me more.
I think people who tend to really focus in on Tesla
are more fascinated with perhaps the "power" in all its forms.
Whatever the case on Tesla, there is a certain range of things
that attract interest in Reich. Some people focus more on the
therapy, others the philosophy, others the sexual metaphors.
Some like it all. : )

Re: Reich vs. Tesla
Wed, April 11, 2007 - 5:20 PMPersonally I don't see a Reich / Tesla dichotomy..
More like an Edison / Tesla dichotomy or a Reich / Brady dichotomy (as in, Mildred Edie Brady, who wrote the article that lead to the FDA's interference in Reich's work). Afterall, both Reich and Tesla were pursuant of harnassing the NATURALLY-OCCURRING forces of the universe and both met with unfortunate abreactions to their professional efforts.. I think both are underrated in many circles, lending a love-for-the-underdog element to the appreciation of both.
Though I'm not (yet) on the Tesla tribe, myself, it's not by virtue of non-interest.. In fact, I am quite interested in both, mainly for the reasons cited above.. and the fact that they offer to humanity a sense of curiosity unmatched by most anyone else I could name. -

Re: Reich vs. Tesla
Thu, April 12, 2007 - 8:02 AMHi Dan,
Yeah. I was aware of the Edison / Tesla dichotomy.
And Reich of course Reich's world view included
a lot of us vs. them but nevertheless had lot's of very real enemies...
I did not mean to imply a dichotomy between Tesla and Reich...
they are in fact very similar... hence my idea to converse about
where they hold interest for different types of people.
I have always been very interested in Tesla but I seem to
spend most of my time focused on Reich based on my
own predispositions.
Perhaps this could be pointing to the way that both men
individually represent,
the polar (as in energy) that is in one form of duality
(which can include enemies and
lack of health)
and yet at the same time a conversation / a dialectic (a form of dichotomy) that is
ultimately more taoist... both sides in balance are of / by / and from the WHOLE.
cheers.
